Have you used GPS on your Mobile Phone?

I did 😀

We were going camping at Perebere to a place i’m totally unfamiliar. I located the place on my Google Maps and pre-cached the area before leaving home as Internet won’t be available there.

Once this is done, i could find my location wherever i was during the travel on the map. I took the screenshot below when i was at Port-Louis going to Immigration square

Using this method, we managed to go to the camping at night to a location we were totally unfamiliar. 😀

Well, I can say I am more than satisfied with my cheap Samsung Galaxy Pocket GT-S5300. 😛

My Android vibrates every 5 secs

As soon as i finished sending a 720p .mkv movie sample on my Samsung Galaxy Pocket GT-S5300, my phone was vibrating every 5 secs.

When i deleted the file, it stopped vibrating. I guess it’s a bug in Android.

And the file plays in MX Player. It also recognized the subtitle. However the movie was laggy a lot. You definitely CANNOT watch a movie like this.

My First Android phone: Samsung Galaxy Pocket GT-S5300

It all happened suddenly. My dad joined us at Bagatelle and we decided to buy a phone. I had very little time to reflect. The 3 candidates i found the most alright were:-

Samsung Galaxy Pocket GT-S5300 @ Rs 4500
Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 @ Rs 4900
Samsung Galaxy Y Duos GT-S6102 @ Rs 6000

I was initially going to buy the Galaxy Y Duos because of it’s camera being 3.15MP and it had the largest screen of all.

However the internal storage is very less compared to the Galaxy Pocket GT-S5300 which has 3GB internal memory. This matters a lot to me as internal storage is faster. It would allow my apps to run more smoothly and hence have a more awesome Android experience 🙂

All the three phones have the same processor and other internal specs. I finally opted for the cheapest phone i.e. Samsung Galaxy Pocket S5300 which i find is awesome 😉

It has almost everything a high-end mobile has:-

– Capacitive touch screen
– 830 mhz CPU which is quite good for a low-end phone.
– GPS with google maps (accurate to 3m) 😛
and much more.

Conclusion
I am more than satisfied with this mobile phone as my first Android phone. I’ll be posting tiny reviews about the individual features Insha Allah 🙂
