We had only 1 hour to do 10 multiple choice questions and write 3 structured questions. The time was really tight.
The test is done on paper. This is really absurd. We cannot erase, modify or copy our own codes. Seriously, this is NOT called Computer Programming. It’s a joke :@
Update: I came first in the test 😛
Congrats dear!!!!!
🙂
@Sweety: Thanks 🙂
I completely agree with you. One can’t write codes on a paper. Instead, examiners should test the candidate’s ability to understand a given problem, analyse the system, propose solutions. All in plain english, with technical terms where appropriate or bits of codes/pseudocode/flowcharts.
A small anecdote : I once found an error in an interview test paper while applying for a job. I reported the error. The company never called me back.
Although one programmer has the necessary skills and knowledge to work competently on a problem or even create a program, he or she can only do so much. Creating the source code for an operating system, for example, will require thousands of manhours from a single programmer and most probably, he or she will only be halfway through. There just isn’t enough time for one or even two programmers to work effectively to produce a usable program.’*
