I won’t make a long intro. Here’s my results:
Maths: B
Physics: A
Chemistry: B
General Paper: B
Biology: B
Note: I took tuitions only in GP
Tuitions are really out of the equation for success!
I thought my results would look the one in the picture since yesterday. I was even sure that i would fail in chemistry. I was worried as i thought i’ll have to redo my HSC. I was afraid to go to sleep.
When i woke up in the morning, i was soo happy to know that i didn’t had a nightmare π
I was was very excited to go and fetch my results as it would be the first time i would ride my new bicycle. Cycling to school helped me a lot to manage the stress. If i’d be sitting idle in bus going to school, i’d have a nervous breakdown.
I was very happy when the teacher smiled at me and congratulated me.
I thought i could even fake smiles after this day. Finally, Aal iz Well!!! π
Anyways, my friend told me this yesterday. Hope it’ll help you too
“whatever be the results just don’t loose faith in life”.
I end this blog post with few words for those who haven’t taken their HSC exams yet:
– Do not just study
– Do not only put nissa. LOL π
– You must both enjoy yourselves and study. During class time, follow the class. During breaks and at home, do whatever you want. Save 30minutes for homeworks at home
– Tuition are NOT the way to success.
I took tuitions only in GP as i almost failed in the subject the previous year. Now, you might think that if i took tuitions in all subject, i would have A everywhere. Totally FALSE!!!
The reason for this result is that i never ever opened my book/copybooks at home. If i had done only 15 minutes of homework per day, I could have got A’s.
The real study task is done st school. Tuitions are really out of the equation for success!
Mauritians need to get this straight. ThisΒ tuition habitsΒ needs to stop!
Congrats dude! Here is one example to show that private tuition is not everything for success. It all depends on the student.
GRatzzzzz
π
nice job.. congrats π
Firstly, Congrats!
Tuitions are not necessary, only when you’ve got great teachers at school!
And yeah, you can get 5As without tuitions, but you MUST have proper planning, coordination, hard work, self discipline, and determination. ( and minimum of 2hrs of study at home, got to use that extra free tuitions time, right?)
For my part, I was lazy and lacked self discipline :p So I took tuitions, except for French… and I got my 5As( that was last year).
Now UNIVERSITY life awaits you!!! This is totally different… so brace yourself… xD
@all: Thanks a lot π
@YNK FC:
I do not agree with you. Casual teachers are more than sufficient for A’s. They just need to do their jobs correctly. Crappy teachers are those who just sit idle.
You do NOT need 2hrs of extra study per day. 30-45 minutes of homeworks is more than sufficient but obligatory.
I remind you that tuition is really out of the equation. That extra 2 hrs is NOT “extra”. It is the time for students to practice sports and games etc which helps in making a ‘student’ become a real ‘person’.
@Nayar… I’m talking from my experience…
2hrs for studying at home! form 8 to 10 pm… You can do Sports form 4 to 6 pm… right… 30 mins are not sufficient to do all homework AND revise all the stuffs encountered in the 8 periods at school. So I guess 2hrs are a minimum in Upper Six.
Well, I don’t know the difference between great and casual teachers… I either understand everything OR nothing… so a teacher can either be great OR crappy. That’s my point of view. I respect yours.
One tip I would like to give all those who are attempting HSC exams… GET THE SYLLABUS!!! Make sure you have all notes and whether you have reached all the objectives set by the syllabus. Some teachers miss some important topics.
BTW, I remember taking 4 tuitions, and all 4 were during the weekend. So I did study 2hrs per day during the week, and got the results I expected. AND still practiced many Sports, watched many serials and films and read many fiction books…. xD… Cheers!
My point was that you do not need to torture yourself. You need to study relaxed at your own pace.
Each student know how much he needs to work so that he learns. The only issue is the laziness against which he has to fight. He should do at-least the minimum what would be good for him.
Thanks a lot for your comments π
